Statute of the Scientific Committee of the Pediatric Orthopedics Section of the Polish Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology

  1. The Scientific Committee consists of three members.
  2. Each member of the Scientific Committee serves a term of 3 years.
  3. The member with the longest service acts as Chairperson in the final year of their term.
  4. Each year a new candidate is elected to the Committee.
  5. The Chairperson of the Committee consults the selection of a new member with the Board of the Section, which chooses a proposed candidate and submits this proposal for approval by the General Assembly of the Section.
  6. The Committee is composed of representatives of different centres.
  7. Only full (ordinary) members of the Section may become members of the Committee.
  8. Papers submitted to the Scientific Committee must not have been published previously.
  9. Abstracts of papers for the next Symposium of the Section must be sent to the Organising Committee by 31 January. The Organising Committee sends the abstracts to the Chairperson of the Scientific Committee by 15 February. No abstract will be accepted after 31 January.
  10. The Chairperson of the Scientific Committee sends copies of the abstracts to the members of the Committee by 28 February.
  11. The abstracts are reviewed by the members of the Scientific Committee without disclosure of the authors’ names or the names of their centres.
  12. The abstracts are reviewed and assessed for scientific merit and originality on a scale from 1 to 5.
  13. The members of the Committee send the review reports to the Chairperson by 15 March.
  14. The total score for scientific merit and originality determines the overall result obtained by the author of the abstract.
  15. Abstracts that receive the highest scores are qualified for presentation.
  16. The qualification criteria for oral presentations are the same as for poster presentations.
  17. The Chairperson of the Scientific Committee determines which papers are accepted for oral presentation and which for poster presentation.
  18. The Chairperson of the Scientific Committee sends a summary of the reviews, together with the abstracts selected for presentation, to the Organising Committee by 31 March.
  19. The Chairperson of the Scientific Committee submits a detailed annual report on the work of the Committee to the Board of the Section and to the General Assembly.
